Homeopathy and Minerals
Jan's first book from 1993 describes the essence of many elements of the Periodic table: Acid (=Hydrogen), Carbon, Nitrogen and Ammonium (a compound of Hydrogen and Nitrogen), Oxygen, Fluoride, Natrium (=sodium), Magnesium, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Chlorum (muriaticums), Kalium, Calcium, Ferrum (=iron), Bromium, Argentum (=silver), Iodum and Barium. It was the first step in a new direction for homeopathy, the thinking in classes or groups. The picture and essence of Calcium is extracted from well known combinations i.e. Calcium carbonicum, Calcium phosphoricum and Calcium sulphuricum. The picture of Calcium can then be combined with Nitrogen and Chlorum to form new remedy pictures such as Calcium nitricum and Calcium muriaticum (chloride). This method, called group analysis, turned out to be highly successful.

Homeopathy and the Elements
His second book is about the physical elements, also called atoms, the basic building blocks of all matter on earth. They are depicted in the famous Periodic table of Mendelejev, which most people will know from chemistry classes in high school. The elements are presented in rows and columns, which reflects their relationship to each other. Elements were put in the same column because they were very similar.
Jan Scholten discovered that this resemblance is also the case for the remedy pictures of those elements. Remedies in the same column or in the same have a similar remedy picture. The rows reflect the themes of life:
Row 1- Hydrogen series; Unborn.
Row 2 - Carbon series; Individuality, Child.
Row 3 - Silicium series, Relations, Puberty.
Row 4 - Iron series; Work, Adulthood.
Row 5 - Silver series; Creativity, Middle age.
Row 6 - Gold series; Leader, Ripe age.
Row 7 - Uranium series; Retirement, Elder.
The columns reflect the way a theme is handled. The 18 columns are 18 stages in a development, going from impulse and start, developing further to a culmination and then decline. They represent the universal theme of life coming to blossom and then disappearing again.
The periodic system is thus seen as a symbol of life, starting with Hydrogen and ending with the heavy, radioactive elements.
The principles of group analysis, classification, are applied in this book to all the elements with enormous success. Pictures of remedies, then unknown in homeopathy were predicted and applied with success. It made the Mineral kingdom understandable homeopathically.

Repertory of the Elements
This repertory describes all the symptoms and essences that were discovered and described in the first 2 books. It makes it easier for homeopaths to retrieve the symptoms which had not been described in the repertories so far. The table is also used for the software Spiral that is an aid in analyzing cases, diseases and patients.
Secret Lanthanides
Secret Lanthanides describes the use of the Lanthanides and their salts in health and disease. It describes persons in a Lanthanide state and the cure with homeopathic potencies. The Lanthanides are elements of the periodic system with atom number 57 through 73. They have strong electro-magnetic and light properties.
Autonomy is a major theme, hence the subtitle “Road to independence”. The search for freedom can lead to a spiritual development and desire for self-control. The Lanthanides are needed for leading ones own life, going one’s own way. It is the road to individuality and individuation. The psychological separation is physically reflected in the immune system and auto-immune diseases. The immune system's function is to separate ones own tissue from foreign substances, it has to find out what “own”.
Wad Stories 1
These are the lectures of 16 homeopaths during a seminar held on the Wadden Sea in Holland in the summer of 2000. The lectures are about new remedies like Aconitum lycoctonum, Sorbus domestica, Cotyledon, and Natrum iodatum, being an important remedy for Second-World-War issues. The analyses of cases, working with dreams, a special view on the Periodic System and remarkable experiences with the homeopathic treatment of animals are included.
Wad Stories 2
Again; these are the lectures of 16 homeopaths during a seminar held on the Wadden Sea in Holland in the summer of 2001. Subjects are Oleander, Humulus lupulus, Sumbul, Juglans regia and Coffea as some examples of plant remedies. You will also find particular information about mineral remedies like Calcium iodatum, Lithium sulphuricum and substances like Naphtalinum and Lecithin. One lecture contains a veterinary homeopathic approach of Foot-and-mouth disease. There is also a proving of Glechoma hederacea.
Minerals in Plants 1 and 2
These books have tables with the results of analyzing the mineral content of plants. This gives the homeopath a means by which they can understand the mineral influence in plants.
Minerals in Plants 2
This book has tables with the results of analysing the mineral content of 100 plants. It gives possibilites for the comparison of minerals and plants.
